Campaigns: Mobilizing Support When It Matters Most
Our campaigns are launched when urgent needs arise and when communities in Sudan require immediate support. Rooted in our monitoring work, our campaigns aim to mobilize people, raise awareness, and channel resources toward initiatives that protect civilians and strengthen community resilience. Although we are a volunteer‑driven organization with no external funding, we have led impactful campaigns by working collaboratively with partners and Sudanese organizations in Norway.
Our campaigns reflect our commitment to act when action is needed most. Through collaboration, transparency, and community engagement, we work to ensure that support reaches those who need it and that the voices of Sudanese communities remain heard, supported, and empowered.
This record reflects our ongoing commitment to Sudan and to the Sudanese community in Norway. We believe that collective action -no matter how small- can create meaningful impact, and that solidarity remains one of our strongest tools for change.
Purpose of Our Campaigns
We launch campaigns when our monitoring identifies urgent needs and when collective action can make a real difference. Our campaigns aim to mobilize support, raise awareness, and provide direct assistance to communities in Sudan.
Our campaigns focus on:
– Mobilizing communities around urgent human rights and humanitarian issues.
– Raising awareness about violations and emerging risks.
– Supporting grassroots initiatives inside Sudan.
– Strengthening solidarity between Sudanese communities and international supporters.
– Providing direct assistance during critical moments.
Our campaigns are designed to be fast, targeted, and grounded in verified information.
How Our Campaigns Work
Each campaign follows a simple, effective approach:
– Evidence‑based: We act only when monitoring confirms real needs
– Collaborative: We work with Sudanese and international partners
– Transparent: All contributions and processes are handled openly
– Community‑focused: Support goes directly to grassroots initiatives
This ensures that every campaign is meaningful, responsible, and impactful.
Types of Campaigns We Lead
Our campaigns vary depending on the needs identified, and may include:
– Awareness campaigns on human rights violations.
– Mobilization campaigns to support affected communities.
– Fundraising campaigns for urgent humanitarian needs.
– Joint campaigns with Sudanese and international organizations.
– Calls to action targeting institutions and the public.
Campaigns allow us to transform monitoring into real‑world support.
Our Approach to Future Campaigns
We continue to launch campaigns when monitoring indicates urgent needs. Our approach remains:
– Volunteer‑driven.
– Evidence‑based.
– Collaborative.
– Transparent.
– Focused on community impact.
We believe that campaigns are not just fundraising tools – they are a way to mobilize solidarity, amplify voices, and support the resilience of Sudanese communities.
Our Previous Campaigns
Over the past decade, we have engaged in a broad spectrum of humanitarian, human rights, and community‑driven campaigns aimed at supporting Sudan, empowering the Sudanese community in Norway, and advocating for justice and dignity. These efforts demonstrate our enduring commitment to public service, solidarity, and standing with people in need in Sudan and within the diaspora.
Humanitarian Campaigns
Clothing Donation Campaigns
In collaboration with other Sudanese organizations and bodies, we organized and engaged in several clothing donation drives across Norway. This includes collecting and shipping clothing to vulnerable families in Sudan.
We received a generous donation of 5,000 brand‑new T‑shirts from Schibsted Group and VG newspaper in 2019. The donation was facilitated by the Mr. Mohamed Adam and the journalist Bjonar.
Voice of Tungli received most of the T-shirts and shipped to Sudan in coordination with the Darfur Association in Norway.
The remaining T-shirts were sipped in March 2026 through Sudanese volunteers (Khalid and Abdel-Azim) working in the shipping sector.

Ongoing Fundraising Campaign
We are actively involved in the ongoing humanitarian campaign led by the Humanitarian Support Group Norway, a long‑running effort established at the start of the war in Sudan. The campaign supports community kitchens (takyas), Emergency Response Rooms, farmers, and local grassroots initiatives across Sudan. Our participation includes contributing to community events organized by the group, charity bazaars, and fundraising activities aimed at mobilizing support. This collaboration has strengthened solidarity within the Sudanese community in Norway and helped channel direct assistance to Sudanese initiatives working on the ground under extremely challenging humanitarian conditions.
Fundraising Campaigns
We have been part of an urgent fundraising campaign to support the Sudan Doctors’ Union during a critical shortage of medical supplies.
During the peak of the COVID‑19 pandemic, we organized a fundraising campaign to support Sudan’s Ministry of Health. We provided bank and Vipps channels for donors from both the Sudanese and Norwegian communities and all funds were transferred through trusted channels to hospitals in greatest need.

Campaign with Norwegian Peoples Aid
In June 2023, we initiated a humanitarian fundraising campaign in collaboration with Norwegian People’s Aid and other Sudanese Organizations and bodies including including Sudanese Association in Norway, Sudanese Family in Lillestrøm, Sudanese Society in Southern Norway, Glani Charity Organization, SAMA Organization, Joud Charity Organization, Kandaka Union Norway, Blue for Children, Voice of Tunguli, and Oslo Youth Team, to support the Sudanese population amid rapidly deteriorating conditions.
Norwegian People’s Aid provided the official bank account and Vipps number for donations. The campaign aimed to channel urgent support to Sudanese grassroots initiatives, including Emergency Response Rooms, community kitchens, and volunteer‑led relief efforts providing food and essential assistance to civilians. The campaign received strong engagement, serving as a model of cooperation between Norwegian civil society and the Sudanese diaspora.
Norwegian Council for Africa Campaign
We participated, together with other Sudanese organizations, in the Norwegian Council for Africa’s Sudan solidarity campaign in November 2025. The campaign brought together activists, experts, students, artists, and the Sudanese diaspora.
The program included a solidarity demonstration, followed by the panel “Sudan: the worst and most forgotten humanitarian crisis” at Melahuset, featuring Dr. Sharif Harir (former senior researcher at the University of Bergen), Eman Hassan (Sudanese activist), and Marit Hærnes (former leader of the Support Group for Sudan and South Sudan). The day concluded with a solidarity concert by the renowned Sudanese musician Abazar.
As part of the same campaign, another panel discussion was hosted by the UN Students at the University of Oslo under the title “The War in Sudan: A Lost Generation?” with contributions from Pio Ding (Save the Children Norway), Vivianne Jour (Support Group for Sudan and South Sudan), and Vibeke Risa (Norwegian Refugee Council). The discussion highlighted the devastating impact of the war on Sudanese youth, the urgent need to protect education, and the importance of restoring hope and opportunities for a generation at risk of being lost to conflict and displacement.
A wide range of Sudanese organizations joined the campaign, underscoring a shared commitment to raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and showing solidarity with people in Sudan and across the diaspora.

Human Rights Campaigns

Release of Dr. Amin Mekki Medani
We participated in the campaign calling for the release of the late Dr. Amin Mekki Medani following his arrest in December 2014 by Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services after signing the “Sudan Call” declaration. Our involvement formed part of a broader mobilization led by Sudanese and international human rights organizations, including the African Centre for Justice and Peace Studies (ACJPS), the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), the World Organisation Against Torture (OMCT), Sudanese civil society groups, and legal advocacy from the Bar Human Rights Committee (BHRC), alongside attention from the European Parliament. The campaign condemned his arbitrary detention, highlighted the risks to his health and age, and emphasized the need to protect human rights defenders in Sudan. Through our efforts, together with partner organizations, we helped raise awareness in Norway and internationally about his case and contributed to the wider call for his release and the safeguarding of civil society actors.
Release of Mohamed Farouk Salman
We joined efforts demanding the release of Mohamed Farouk Salman after his detention in the United Arab Emirates, in coordination with human rights groups and activists.

Campaigns Against Hosting Sudanese Officials in Norway
We organized campaigns to protest visits by Sudanese officials such as Ghazi Salah al-Din al-Atabani and Nafie Ali Nafie, in cooperation with activists and human rights organizations.

Stopping Deportation of Asylum Seekers
We took part in a major campaign opposing the forced return of Sudanese asylum seekers from Norway.
We organized protests in front of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Parliament, and documented the consequences of deportation on those affected.
Sudanese Revolution Support Initiative
At the beginning of the Sudanese revolution in 2018, we launched an initiative that brought together 19 Sudanese organizations in Norway – the first initiative of its kind in Europe.
The initiative played a major role in unifying community efforts, organizing events, issuing joint statements, and building a broad network of solidarity.
